We’ve arrived in Australia!!
It’s Wednesday night and we are chilling with a couple beers and my cousin Joe. It’s the end of our first week here and we are already completely settled in. After a few days of bad weather at the start (rain and 20 degree cold), the sun has been shining and the surrealness of a hot December has set in. Joe has been an excellent chauffeur and chef, not only driving us around from Bilgola to Palm beach to Manly to Curl Curl and back home to Warrawee but also whipping up unbelievably delicious breakfasts and dinners . The Renshaws, and particularly Tess, have been such generous hosts, giving us a spacious room, showing us around the city and generally making us feel at home.
Apart from spending time at the beach, we enjoyed a lovely bbq at my Uncle Mark’s house, which gave me a chance to see my cousin’s beautiful sons who have grown up so much! We have also visited Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, The Opera House, The Rocks, Hornsby Mall and walked across the Harbour Bridge. All in all, we feel at home here in the sunshine, and are looking forward to next week when we will travel up to the Gold Coast with Joe and maybe even go skydiving..!
We’ll keep you posted

it’s snowed at least a foot or so since i’ve been back up in ithaca from thanksgiving break..and the only thing that makes me less envious of your summer weather is that i just had the biggest snowball fight/tackling ever. much fun. but anyway, can’t wait to hear more from you guys!

Dear Girls,
Glad to hear you are enjoying Oz. One of the teachers brought her Australian boyfriend to our staff luncheon. Steve is a stunt man who stands in for Hugh, same height and physique. He broke his spine playing rugby, but he’s o.k. now. Enjoy the sunshine.

All your descriptions remind me of the same trip I took in June with the Sophomores when we visited the Sacred Heart School in Rose Bay Sydney. Just love that place! Would absolutely move there in the blink of an eye. Don’t forget to go to Bills for the most fabulous pancakes in the world (they call them hotcakes), and to Mecca for coffee. Oh that coffee! Ladies, you are so lucky!!
Ariana, thank you so much for you letter and postcard. Do you have an address down under?
Hugs and all,
BP
PS: Skydiving???

A,S&L: I am so very jealous of the three of you! Skydiving….. please be careful. Lather yourselves in sunscreen and then, of course, there’s the zinc (not sure what this is for but Ann does). Enjoy your long ride to the Gold Coast and don’t forget to post more pix. Love you.

Glad to hear you’ve dragged yourselves to the beach – it sounds tough… but after D Club I guess you girls are up to it… or was it Club D???!! Anyway, it was good to see you all in Switzerland and the video message was duly passed on to GM.
So where are you going to be for your birthday??
As Mother Fox says, don’t forget the zinc cream
Happy New Year
